Buying from another Amazon in Europe
The same product is sometimes cheaper on another Amazon in Europe. Ordering there is easy, as long as you check a few things before paying.
1. Your account already works
You sign in on Amazon.fr, .de, .it, .es or .nl with the same email and password as on your usual Amazon. Your addresses and payment methods are often already there. If the page is in another language, look for the language menu at the top: most Amazon stores also offer English.
2. Check delivery to your country
- Not every product ships to every country. Amazon shows it on the product page once your address is selected.
- Delivery costs and times depend on the product and the seller. Compare the total price, delivery included, not just the price shown.
- Delivery benefits from your membership may differ from one country to another: check them on the checkout page.
3. Warranty and returns
In the European Union, you usually have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase, and the legal guarantee of conformity of at least 2 years applies. Exact return terms (who pays for the return, return address) are those of the site you order from: read them before you buy.
4. Pitfalls to avoid
- Keyboards: a German keyboard is QWERTZ, a French one AZERTY, Italian and Spanish ones have their own QWERTY layouts. Check the layout!
- Manuals and games: the language of the manual, the box or a video game may differ. Check the product page.
- Plugs: continental Europe uses type C/E/F plugs; Italy also uses type L, and the UK and Ireland use type G. Check the plug type on the product page.
- Seller: check who sells and ships (Amazon or a third-party seller), because return conditions can change.
5. Compare in one click
Paste your product's link into Prixboum: you get the same product on every Amazon in Europe, ready to compare.
